The key to beautiful newborn pictures....

1. Patience, Calmness, Unlimited TIME (3 hours average!), A true love of babies

2. The "eye" for photography. Just as with any other art, the technical side can be learned by anyone. We can all learn the fundamentals of music composition, but most of us can't write a masterpiece symphony.

3. A good understanding of your equipment. -Lightsource(s) -Camera -Props/Drops -Editing Software etc.

4. A good understanding of your subject - behavior, reactions, best angles/compositions

And finally a complete love and passion for photography and for newborn photography

Well before the midnight feedings, the adorable grins and spit bubbles, and the need to take so many items with you that you enlist the help of U-haul for an overnight trip with baby, there were two. These are the moments that started it all, and these are the moments that sparked what is now your beautiful and full family.

Here are some pics from an engagement shoot that I was honored to be a part of for this fun loving, newlywed couple, and soon to be family of 3!

Out of all of the things that HAVE to be done before baby arrives, the one that you absolutely can't finish after baby is here are your Professional Maternity and Belly Portraits.

If the nursery isn't finished before baby comes, baby will still be here and can sleep in it anyway. If your hospital bag isn't packed, and you wind up in delivery without your favorite pillow and toothpaste, baby will still come. If heaven forbid you do not get the carseat in the car on time, baby will still come and daddy can wrestle it on his own.

But, if you do not get your maternity portraits before baby comes, there will be no possibility to get them.

So take a breather and make sure to schedule your session to be between 32-37 weeks depending on your belly and baby. I also highly recomend a spa day prior to your session. This way you will be relaxed and glowing. Your feet will be rested and the session day will be a wonderful memory forever. It will show in your pictures.

So take a mommy spa day and get a massage, mani/pedi, or one last hair appointment before baby. Then come to your customized session and get breathaking pictures taken at sunset on the pond and then come back to the studio to allow the light and shadows to wrap around your beautiful baby bump to be forever captured and remembered.

It's been a while since I have posted to the Blog. We have some exciting news here at WOW Photos. We will be advertising in The Bump. We will display our business and work at www.TheBump.com - and also in their printed magazine. We are excited to begin this new phase.

Although Maternity and Newborn photography has always been a favorite at Wow Photos, we have come to realize that this will be our specialty. We will have the occasional senior, family or older kid sessions available on request, but will now only advertise and display samples of our Newborn, Maternity and Baby photography.
